Well, it is true.

John Delavera is retiring or semi-retiring is more accurate. It’s no secret I’ve been a John Delavera follower since 2006 and I want to share with you one of the many lessons I’ve learned from him during these years and particularly when I joined his mentoring program. Dear friend, if you’re expecting to become a millionaire overnight, then I’m sorry to tell you that you are a bit misinformed about how Internet Marketing really works.  Nothing that grand can come so quickly, unless of course you’re in Vegas and Lady Luck is smiling at you. It took John 8 years of hard work to get where he is now. Rome wasn’t built in a day. So please remember this very important requisite.  Keep it in your heart, and never forget. Finish your daily tasks and feed your BIG dream with small successes. If you learn to do this, you are ready to start your online journey.

The second thing he told me was “Daniel, Internet Marketing does NOT start with a website, nor a domain name, nor upon acquiring a hosting service. Making money online starts way before all those. It starts in your mind, with an IDEA!”

The common mistake that people make is they are in such a hurry to earn from the Internet (no patience) that they immediately start building sites, posting articles, paying for ads, etc. and generating traffic without actually having a real business message to convey.

And why is that?

It’s because they don’t have a product to sell.  Worse, without an idea of what to sell, their strategies lose focus.  Their sites will just look like a hodgepodge of garbage that visitors will stay away from. Thus, the very first step in establishing a profitable online venture is product creation.  And product creation is a process that will transpire in your mind.

Think about it. You can’t expect to make a living from Affiliate marketing unless people know who you are and they won’t know who you are unless you have a product they can identify as yours.

So, how do you come up with a product? If you have no clue here’s your first guideline:

1. Know what you can do.
2. Know what people want.
3. Know your possible competition.

Also, consider that a potentially profitable product should have the following requisites:

1. You will be capable of producing and delivering it with efficiency
2. There is a viable market for it
3. There is minimal competition for the said market

The problem that most people have is that they don’t believe in themselves.  They have no idea about what they could come up with. If you’re one these people, you must keep in mind a very simple fact: Everything is a product. Really. You just have to choose one which you could sell efficiently.  And you must learn how to sell it.

Everything falls into place once you KNOW what to do and where you are going. if you are struggling to get started, sit back and relax and THINK what you are actually selling, this is a valuable lesson. You can worry later about finding a graphic designer, a copywriter, split testing software and the rest of that mumbo-jumbo. Nothing will start happening unless you have clear in your mind your final GOAL. This is a lesson we owe to John Delavera.
